Diversity Telehealth Wins AltCap Your Biz & Takes Home $25K Grand Prize

AltCap and an audience of entrepreneurial friends and colleagues helped celebrate 10 incredible small businesses on Nov. 17 at the annual AltCap Your Biz: Pitch Competition event.

After an afternoon of impressive pitches that displayed each business's story, mission, and potential, were thrilled to announce that Diversity Telehealth, founded by Dr. Shelley Cooper, is the 2022 AltCap Your Biz Champion.

Diversity Telehealth, which offers a platform to help patients and businesses better access telemedicine, won $25,000 and eternal bragging rights. Sweet Peaches Cobblers, led by Denisha Jones, won the second-place award of $10,000 for its business that creates delicious, made-from-scratch cobblers. Upside Bungee, run by Marina Sharkey and Rachel McMeachin, took home the Fan Favorite prize of $2,500 for its low-impact, bungee-style fitness experience.

The contest is made possible by this year's sponsors, including UMB, PNC Bank, Bank of Labor, and the KCK Chamber. Thank you to our hosts KCSourceLink and iWerx — we are proud to be an annual contributor to Global Entrepreneurship Week - Kansas City. And thank you to the panel of judges who volunteered their ideas, questions, and time.

The next AltCap Your Biz: Pitch Competition will be announced in 2023. If you’re subscribed to our newsletter, you'll receive more info on when applications open. Learn more about the event here and check out our photo gallery here.
