Impact in the Heartland

Capital deployment

Since 2008, AltCap has deployed more than $32 million in financing to more than 800 small business borrowers throughout Kansas and Missouri.

Many of these borrowers were denied by banks for lacking high enough credit scores, established business histories, collateral or other traditional financial metrics.

At AltCap, we see entrepreneurs' potential beyond a credit score, which allows us to invest in small businesses of all stages.

AltCap’s financing helps a wide range of entrepreneurs — from artists and contractors to restaurateurs and realtors — execute their dreams, cultivate communities and grow the economy.

Relief for small businesses

In March 2020, AltCap pivoted its focus to help businesses navigate the economic challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In response, AltCap deployed more than $13 million in relief financing to 578 Missouri and Kansas small businesses. This relief financing was distributed to small businesses hit hardest by the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

AltCap’s relief efforts — which were supported by community, civic, and private partnerships — were the most significant, local initiative to deploy capital to small businesses.

With an average relief loan of $22,508, the entrepreneurs who received this financing represent more than 38 counties and 16 different industries that were able to retain more than 2,163 jobs.
