Artists, artisans and small businesses in the creative industries contribute significantly to the economic vitality and quality of life in Kansas City, Missouri. From First Fridays to the Plaza Art Fair or KC Fashion Week to the KC Fringe Festival, art and artists remain the creative soul of a city that has been home to Walt Disney, Charlie "Yardbird" Parker, Thomas Hart Benton, Kate Spade and countless others. 

"ArtCap" is an innovative microloan fund created by AltCap in partnership with the City of Kansas City, Missouri's Office of Culture and Creative Services to support the arts community and creative economy in Kansas City, Missouri. The microloan fund is meant to provide artists, artisans and small businesses in the creative industries access to flexible financing to support their passion and grow their business.

In addition to providing access to creative, flexible and patient capital for musicians to fashion designers, "ArtCap" will also provide one-on-one small business development assistance. Both established arts-related businesses as well as artists/artisans who are looking to advance their work and careers will have access to various levels of technical assistance resources and mentoring opportunities through AltCap’s economic empowerment programs as well as resource partners including ArtsKC Regional Arts Council, KCSourceLink and the Women's Business Center.
